Featuring Cesar Sanchez - A Story of Heritage, Hard Work, and Heart

FACES OF THE FARM Series

Welcome to our FACES OF THE FARM series, where we celebrate the dedicated individuals who bring our agricultural vision to life. Meet Cesar Sanchez, whose journey from migrant worker to farm manager embodies the spirit of perseverance and passion that drives our industry.

Roots That Run Deep

Born in 1970 in Tuan, a small town in southern Jalisco, Mexico, Cesar comes from a family steeped in agricultural tradition. At just seven years old, he arrived in the United States with his migrant farm-working family, beginning a life that would take him from Florida to Michigan, following the seasons and the crops.

"We were migrants, so we were going from Florida and Michigan back and forth following the crops," Cesar reflects on those formative years that shaped his deep understanding of farm life and the dedication it requires.

Understanding the Journey

When Cesar returned to farm management in 2023, he brought with him a unique perspective—one shaped by years in the fields and a profound understanding of the people who make agriculture possible. He knows firsthand the sacrifices that farm workers make, leaving their families for five to six months at a time to provide for those they love.

"People that come to work here, they have to leave their family, they come to make money and provide to their families," Cesar explains. "We have to work all together to commit to get to the end or the goal."

Partnership and Progress

Working alongside industry leader Caleb, Cesar has witnessed remarkable growth and innovation. He's seen operations evolve from traditional farming to incorporating cutting-edge technology, improved varieties, and comprehensive processing capabilities—from field to cooling facilities.

"From then to now, he's been improving a lot, a lot more technology, better varieties," Cesar notes with admiration. "Caleb just works, works, works, and gets everything done."

Passion in Action

For Cesar, success lies not just in the crops grown or the goals achieved, but in the relationships built and the satisfaction of meaningful work. His philosophy is simple yet profound: "When you like what you do, you're not working really. You're enjoying it because you're accomplishing your goals and everybody's doing right."

The Heart of Agriculture

Cesar's role places him at the center of it all—connecting with workers, understanding the farm, and ensuring everyone's needs are met. His journey from migrant worker to farm manager represents the very best of American agriculture: opportunity, growth, and the power of dedication.
